Burning Energy

Ro and I have this great idea. The kids love to play so instead of sitting inside on our bums during these beautiful days in our miserable apartment we are taking the children to parks and such. One we wear them out and two we all get some much needed exercise. Today Ro came home semi early from work and we went out to get the kids some much needed play. I love watching my babies play hard and even do new things they have never done before. It does a mama's heart good to see them content and know you are doing the best you can. To see them smile is worth more then any amount of
money.

Stop my babies from growing so fast please

Again the kids and I went to the mall today. I thought it was too hot to deal with the parks and this mall has a great indoor area to play. While there I decided to check out the baby store for baby gear for my nephew to be born (actually second cousin but my cousin and I are more like sisters now then before) in the next two months. My son has been sitting on the 39.5 mark for the last couple months and I had a fear that we would have to take him to a highback booster due to cost restraints. Imagine my surprise when I found an Apex 65 for the low cost of $43.00. I checked the manufacture date and it was produced in April of 2008 so I am really going to get about 5 years usage from this seat. I am so happy that my son now has the last carseat he will ever need. I feel that as a mom I am protecting him as much as I can. I only wish I had known all these facts when my daughter was born. Thank goodness we all get smarter with age instead of the latter.

Just Chilling with my Babies

Today was a nice day. I was in the mood to go to the second hand store and the kids and I had lots of free time. We went to the second hand store and mommy got them their summer waredrobes! We rode the bus to the store and my kids loved it. Little Ro sat on the bus and smiled and said Car everytime he saw a new one.

When we got home there was homemade pizza and daddy had to go to school. It was an awesome day.

Our weekend

Saturday Daddy had to work all day. When he was not working well it rained and we had to grocery shop. We made a pact to not eat out as often as we were. The way we were eating out was like it was going out of style. Not a good example for my kids or good for us healthwise either. We are now stocking up on healthy food and even snacks so we are not tempted to grab the keys and grab conveince foods.

We finally picked up our little wagon on Friday. It is wonderful (except the back wheel is slightly cracked I am sure some epoxy will help that however). Saturday with the rain we decided to go home and relax. Ro and I curled up on the couch and watched some movies. Sunday God gave us a 4 hour break from the rain so off we went to our favorite walking trail to test the wagon and exercise the dogs.

The park was beautiful as always. The water was clear and running. The air smelled of fresh rain and the kids even cooperated for pictures. It was a wonderful day. Ro and I walked and talked and laughed and flirted and made our way to the car. He even pulled both kids back to the car for me and I swooned and told him he was strong. Not even 10 minutes after we got back in the car the skies poured out and we laughed at how close we were to getting soaked. It was a good weekend and I wish everyday could be like this.

I love Craigslist

So true another mans junk is another womans treasure. In the past two months I have scored very well on craigslist. I found a xbox 360 with red rings of death for 40. I called xbox and it was still under warranty so they replaced it for free. I found a headset for bluetooth for 20. My favorite find so far is a little tikes explorer wagon. This thing is huge and normally 70.00 before shipping. I scored it for 15.00. I am so happy right now and I am on a bargain high. This weekend will be spent testing the wagon and you will see my sons happy face.

My Blog is backdated now

I have posted some blogs from the end of May to almost current. I apologize for lossing my blog for a couple of weeks here. I have gone through a lot lately and just now am updating. Make sure you go back and see what is up.

The Joy of Being Mom

Today started out being a great day. I love Thursdays now even more then Fridays because I know that tomorrow my husband will be home for the weekend after he clocks out. I look forward to smelling his scent and seeing his smile. I have not had enough of that lately.

Today I had a bad craving for tacos americanos (taco bell tacos) so I ran to target to get some cheese and shells. You know me I had to check out the clearance. I was so happy to find diapers on clearance (size 6 huggies supreme 82 diapers 14.42 score) I threw them in the cart and started to pick up some trail mix. Walking over to electronics my daughter screams at me, "Mom what is wrong with Ro-n's face?" I am thinking that he has a moco or something so I look over hesitantly. My poor son's eye is swollen practically shut. I look at his arm and it has hives and is red and itchy. I am terrified and have no idea what to do. Screw the No shirt no service policy my son is in danger. I run over to the OTC meds, rip off his shirt and whip out the cell phone. I call my daughters pediatrician. They will not give me any advice and had no appointments. I call the hospital emergency room and start crying to the nurse on duty. She tells me this sounds like an common allergy most likely to weeds or pollen and that it sounds localized. She advises me to give him benedryl and a lukewarm bath. I finally settle down and run to get a new shirt and check out quickly. In the parking lot I whip out the benedryl and force a dose down. I run home praying it does not rain and get in the house.

Tonight the hives are gone and the swelling on the eye is minimul. I am sure I will wake up a lot tonight to check his breathing. Today I was the crazy crying lady with a baby without a shirt and sadly enough in the situation I would probably do the same again. Living with no regrets, that is me.

So proud

Forgive me for taking this post to brag for a minute. Believe it or not today I am not bragging about the kids. I am going to take a moment and brag about my dear husband. (Yes today he is dear to me LOL). He has been in school now a full 6 months. I was very worried and lonely but I am learning that my husband is a very strong man. He has missed maybe two days total. To my children and me he is a great inspiration. I did not think we could do this but we are now 1/3 of the way through and we are surviving.

Tonight he came home and handed me a folder. Similar to the children do sometimes. I open it and inside is a beautiful certificate. It is an award from the president of the school. It says Rogelio L has been awarded this cerfificate for maintaining a perfect gpa of 4.0 and has been placed on the presidents list for the semester through June 12th.

I am so proud of my hubby. He will continue to go on and have great things. You know what they say though is Behind every good man is a better woman. Guess this speaks volumes about me.

What a wonderful weekend

This weekend we took the kids to yuck-e- I mean chuck-e-cheese. We had a party in the complex complete with a blow up jumper, all beef hot dogs and plenty of lemonade.
We took the dogs to the park and watched trains pass. Then came home and watch movies. My life is pretty good right now. I cannot complain too much.

Big News

I am moving. Hooray! We got approved finally for our new apartment and will be leaving this ghetto next month. Our official move out date is going to be July 25th but I will turn the Keys over on August 1st. People who want to find me will have my address and people who have no business knowing where I am will have no clues.

The pros of my new apartment are:
Clean Playground
Large Green Areas
Hardwood Floors
Mountain Views
Better Neighborhood
Quiet Neighborhood
Heated Pool

Cons
No washer dryer in unit
No AC
Moving actually moving

Soon my family will be starting a new chapter in our lives. Roana will be attending a smaller school and everyone says it is a better school. I am so excited and I have a feeling we will finally find our place to call home.
